Why Choose PRP?

dansportsmed

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy uses injections of a concentration of a patient’s own platelets to accelerate the healing of injured tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints. In this way, PRP injections use each individual patient's own healing system to improve musculoskeletal problems.

This innovative procedure concentrates platelets, growth factors, and cytokines from your own body into a powerful injection concentrate. Dr Parker then utilizes ultrasound to carefully guide and place the PRP directly into the tissue in need of healing. Once there, the platelets and growth factors begin to change the environment of the tissue to reduce inflammation and allow a positive environment for healing to occur. Next the cytokines begin to recruit other cells involved in the healing cascade to promote tissue growth and repair.

PRP is useful for:

Osteoarthritis

Tendonitis

Low back pain

Ligament Damage

Muscle Injuries

Plantar Fasciitis

PRP injections are prepared by taking anywhere from one to a few tubes of your own blood and centrifuging it to concentrate the platelets. These activated platelets are then injected directly into your injured or diseased body tissue. This releases growth factors that stimulate and increase the number of reparative cells your body produces.

Not all PRP is created equal!

Dr Parker has been utilizing PRP for tendon and joint healing since 2011 to treat patients with cutting edge research. He utilizes the highest quality PRP available from Emcyte to achieve high potency PRP with great results. PurePRP® SupraPhysiologic provide between 7 and 21 billion platelets in a 7mL treatment sample, however the typical deliverables for patients with normal platelet counts are around 9 billion platelets. This is up to 2 billion higher than the minimum required treatment amount.
